Interior Designer – Luxury Residential We’re looking for an exceptional Interior Designer with 5–8+ years of residential experience to join our team in Ann Arbor, MI. This role is designed for those with strong technical skills, a confident creative voice, and fluency in the luxury residential design process from first concept through final installation.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Principal(s) and design team on assigned projects from onboarding through installation

Support all aspects of the design process with a proactive, team-oriented approach and a positive attitude

Produce accurate technical documentation including space plans, elevations, renderings, 3D drawings, bespoke furniture designs, electrical plans, and detailed millwork drawings in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit

Support and mentor Junior Designers on the team with a positive approach, helping to ensure accuracy and adherence to best practices throughout the design process

Collaborate with Principal(s), as requested, to develop and execute the creative vision for projects ensuring alignment with Ramsay Nye’s brand and aesthetic

Translate client needs into refined solutions that are aligned with approved budgets while managing expectations and continually moving projects forward

Source FF&E, obtain vendor quotes, and prepare accurate specifications and proposals

Present design concepts internally and participate in client presentations as directed

Manage project budgets, timelines, purchasing, and expediting

Maintain accurate schedules, reporting, invoicing coordination, and financial reconciliations with the bookkeeper

Manage and/or oversee tasks effectively within Ramsay Nye’s project management systems

Meet all deadlines, proactively identify issues, and collaborate on continuous workflow improvement

Track time daily and maintain accurate records

Develop and maintain excellent professional relationships with coworkers, clients, builders, architects, vendors, subcontractors, and workrooms

Requirements

Degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture

5–8+ years of professional experience

Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit; Enscape, Lumion, Chief Architect, and Bluebeam a plus

Strong design sensibility with a compelling portfolio of high-end residential work

Deep fluency in luxury materials, finishes, and trusted vendor partnerships

Enthusiasm about learning and applying the Ramsay Nye aesthetic while bringing your own creative point of view

Grounded in integrity, honesty, and transparency, and quick to own mistakes and turn them into smart solutions

Highly organized, detail‑obsessed, and energized by structure, systems, and process

Thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment where creativity and hard work go hand in hand
