We are seeking a results-driven

Controller

to oversee financial reporting, internal controls, and operational efficiency across our dealership. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, safeguarding assets, and maintaining compliance with manufacturer and management company requirements. Ensure all daily bank deposits (ACH, wires, etc.) are recorded accurately

Reconcile all bank accounts daily

Post standard monthly journal entries by the 15th of each month

Maintain fixed asset schedules in sync with general ledger accounts

Supervise office staff to ensure consistent, timely task completion

Prepare financial reports as requested by management or department heads

File all applicable tax reports on time (sales tax, lease tax, tire tax, TPP, etc.)

Execute timely and accurate month-end closings and financial statement submissions

Maintain and review all accounting schedules monthly

Complete all account reconciliations (floorplan, reserves, bank, AP, manufacturer statements, etc.)

Ensure finance product contracts (e.g., warranty, GAP) are remitted and paid each month

Process AP checks by the 15th of each month

Recommend improvements for office efficiency and workflow

Meet weekly with managers to review expenses, open deals, receivables, and incentive claims

Support CFO and leadership in annual budget preparation

Reconcile Monthly Parts Schedules and submit to CFO

Coordinate and document monthly physical inventories for CFO and Variable Operations Director

Oversee title work processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

Manage vehicle inventory stocking and retail delivery entries daily

Ensure timely posting of all vehicle, service, parts, and body shop transactions

Monitor WIP and ensure ROs and parts tickets are closed within acceptable timelines

Reconcile vehicle physical inventory monthly with sales managers and GL

Issue monthly AR statements (including intercompany) and follow up on collections

Ensure WIP is reviewed and reconciled monthly

Qualifications

Minimum

2 years as an Automotive Controller , or similar senior accounting experience

Strong knowledge of

CDK DMS

(PayCom experience preferred)

High attention to detail and strong leadership skills

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dealership environment
