Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary The Department of Orthopedic Surgery is seeking a Scheduling Specialist II. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a positive patient experience by accurately and efficiently scheduling patient new and follow‑up appointments for a busy Physical Therapy/Orthopedic department.

This position is located at Kirby Glen and offers free parking.

Job Duties

Schedules, coordinates, and reschedules patient appointments.

Verifies and transcribes order/referral, ensures they are complete, and matches scheduled procedure.

Registers patients in Epic.

Verifies insurance information of new and returning patients.

Answers the telephone and routes patient calls accordingly.

Maintains and updates current information on physician's schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly and appointments are confirmed.

Assists with patients check in/out process.

Works on assigned workqueue for the department.

Calls patients for appointments reminders.

Verifies insurance and pre‑certification of insurance benefits.

Handles Epic In‑basket requests (through MyChart or from clinic staff).

Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Epic experience.

Work Authorization Requirement:

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment.
