Job Description If you are passionate about advanced development of next-generation large‑scale distributed systems designed for the most popular database in the world and optimized for the cloud, we would like to talk with you. As a senior member of the database software engineering team, you will lead, innovate, influence, design, develop, and operate advanced features across cloud‑native scale highly available distributed systems, database core engine, operating systems, and storage subsystems. The position will leverage your expertise in the following (or related) areas:

Query processing or Transaction Processing

System software, including operating system kernels

Cloud computing

Distributed Systems Protocols

Machine learning

Desired Skills and Experience

Experienced professionals with a PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical & Computer Engineering

At least 10+ years of professional experience

Strong deep technical knowledge on database core internals, proficiency in systems design and development

Proficiency in developing large production quality code in C++/C in a multi‑threaded environment, advanced data structures and algorithms

Previous experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Aurora, Horizon DB, Alloy DB etc. is a BIG plus

Demonstrated excellence in building and operating large scale and/or cloud native products and software services

Excellent interpersonal and communication including writing & presentation skills

Ability to effectively collaborate across functional boundaries in a fast paced agile development environment

As a senior member of the database software engineering team, you will lead, innovate, influence, design, develop, and operate advanced features across cloud‑native scale highly available distributed systems, database core engine, operating systems, and storage subsystems. The responsibilities will include defining detailed design specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software. The position will leverage your expertise in the following (or related) areas:

Query processing or Transaction Processing

System software, including operating system kernels

Cloud computing

Distributed Systems Protocols

Machine learning

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non‑overtime eligible) position. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
