Job ID: 00609320 (J.B. Hunt) – Diesel Technician / Fleet Mechanic Responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical issues in tractors and trailers Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines Inspect and test vehicle systems for safety Perform intermediate‑level maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt tractors and other equipment (Technician II level) Act as subject‑matter expert, performing complex maintenance, service, and repair of tractors and other equipment (Senior Technician level) Perform diagnostic and repair work both in‑bay and roadside when necessary Conduct DOT inspections and diagnose & repair AC, charging/starting systems, ABS diagnosis Maintain a clean and organized work area Continuously maintain proficiency in diagnosis and repair procedures Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent Experience in tractor maintenance or diesel repair (level dependent on position) Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to safety and quality service Valid mechanical or automotive certification (e.g., ASE) preferred Job Details
Location: Oklahoma City, OK (other sites include Commerce City, CO, and national terminals) Hours: 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (other shifts available) Travel: None Employment type: Full‑time Salary: Competitive pay based on experience; includes commission incentive, sign‑on bonus up to $750, and ASE incentives Benefits: Paid time off, paid holidays, family‑oriented culture
