CNC Laser Operator – Mid-Plains Industries
The CNC Laser Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC laser cutting equipment. The ideal candidate will set up jobs, monitor production, inspect parts, and ensure quality and safety standards are met. Duties and Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines (fiber or CO2) Load programs and adjust cutting parameters as needed Load/unload material using forklifts or overhead cranes Monitor machine operation and make minor adjustments Perform first-article and in-process inspections Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and cut sheets Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning Maintain accurate production and quality records Follow all safety procedures and shop standards Work with supervisors and programmers to improve efficiency Other duties assigned Education
High School Diploma or GED Experience
Previous CNC laser experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (calipers, tape measure, micrometers) Basic computer skills Strong attention to detail and quality Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time Forklift or crane experience a plus Use proper personal protective equipment Preferred Qualifications
Trumpf, Bystronic, Mitsubishi, Amada, Mazak or similar laser systems Sheet metal fabrication experience Nesting software or CNC programming knowledge Other Requirements
Must be able to complete a background check and pass a pre‑employment drug test prior to starting and after offer is made. Seniority Level
