The
Systems Programmer III
maintains LERETA’s Mainframe system by installing, customizing, installing, and/or upgrading products that run on the system. The role researches, analyzes, evaluates, and integrates new and emerging technologies in order to find ways to deliver a superior IT environment to the customer in a cost effective and secure manner. Responsibilities include the development and documentation of processes and testing systems to ensure that the process works Installs, tests, and maintains IBM and vendor software products

Maintains, supports, tunes and enhances LERETA mainframe online and batch environments Monitors the performance of the z/VSE environment and can take proactive actions to avert potential problems Document steps taken and ensure that there are processes in place to avoid future issues Diagnoses and resolves z/VSE system problems with a focus on extremely high availability Analyzes traces, system dumps, and work with vendors Provides SME coaching, support and consultancy to operations staff, application, and other technical teams Documents all environments / processes Plans, schedules and manages all assigned tasks and projects Provides 24 X 7 On-call support as needed Automates operations to decrease manual entries, adjustments, etc. to systems Performs Capacity Planning –estimating the space, computer hardware, software and connection infrastructure resources that will be needed over a period of time Provides Disaster Recovery Responsible for design, implementation and testing of IT disaster recovery solutions This position will perform other duties as assigned based on the needs of the department.
