Job Description The Inventory Control Specialist (ICS) is entrusted with the critical responsibility of maintaining precise accountability of inventory and inventory transactions. This role is fundamental to the organization's operational efficiency and financial integrity. The IC is tasked with conducting rigorous daily cycle counts, investigating inventory variances, ensuring strict adherence to FIFO product rotation protocols, and executing timely replenishment of pick locations to support outbound warehouse operations.

In addition to these primary functions, the IC should be versatile and cross‑train in other business areas, providing assistance as required and adhering to standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate proficiency in operating RF scanners and desktop computers within an SAP environment, ensuring accurate data entry and retrieval.

Operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts, with safety and efficiency.

Conduct daily cycle counts of pick and reserve bins by batch, maintaining accuracy.

Investigate and report inventory discrepancies, providing analysis and recommendations.

Implement and monitor FIFO product rotation protocols to minimize waste.

Execute daily replenishment of pick bins before and during outbound operations.

Segregate, account for, and dispose of damaged and spoiled products, ensuring regulatory compliance.

Investigate root causes of damage/spoilage, proposing comprehensive solutions.

Manage outgoing shipments (excluding standard delivery orders):

Execute precise picking, packing, and staging of materials.

Prepare and verify outgoing Bills of Lading.

Oversee truck loading for outgoing shipments.

Support loading trucks and managing customer pick‑ups as required.

Adhere to all company processes, policies, and security protocols.

Maintain readiness for audits and 5S evaluations.

Provide guidance and training to team members on inventory control practices.

Play a pivotal role in monthly, semi‑annual, and annual Physical Inventory processes.

Uphold safety standards when operating all equipment and tools.

Execute additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

High School diploma required; college preferred.

Inventory certifications acceptable.

2+ years of experience in an inventory role; SAP experience preferred.

Strong organizational skills.

Problem‑solving skills to improve efficiency and resolve inventory issues.

Prior experience in inventory control, warehouse, production, or manufacturing.

Forklift and pallet jack certification required.

Attention to detail to identify defective products.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and RF scanner.

Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).

Professional and courteous in dealing with customers.

Willing and able to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Stand or walk for long periods, climb stairs/ladder, lift up to 50 lbs.

Work in refrigerated (32‑38°F) and freezer (‑10 to 0°F) or extreme heat.

Work in environments with loud machinery when necessary.

Work around flour and yeast.

Reach with hands and arms overhead frequently.

Push/pull 100 lbs using a pallet jack.

Use and wear required safety equipment.
