Basic Expectations for a Facilities Lead
Ensure all areas (interior and exterior) are clean, safe, and presentable.
Conduct regular inspections and address maintenance issues promptly.
Keep track of maintenance schedules for HVAC, lighting, plumbing, safety systems, etc.
Perform or coordinate preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns.
Lead, schedule, and supervise maintenance or custodial team members.
Communicate clearly with staff and management about facility needs or concerns.
Schedule and oversee vendors or contractors for repairs, inspections, and services.
Ensure quality and cost‑effective work is performed.
Maintain compliance with safety codes and regulations (e.g., OSHA, fire codes).
Ensure safety equipment (alarms, extinguishers, signage) is functional and up to date.
Maintain stock of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
Track usage and request orders before running out.
Prioritize and complete work orders in a timely manner.
Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance work.
Be available for facility‑related emergencies.
Quickly respond to urgent repairs or unsafe conditions.
Help control costs related to repairs and supplies.
Suggest cost‑effective solutions and improvements.
Represent the company well through professional behavior, appearance, and communication.
