About the Role: Job Summary The Executive Director of Facilities Engineering provides strategic leadership and oversight for all aspects of healthcare facility operations, engineering, and infrastructure management. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, supports patient care through safe and efficient environments, and drives long-term capital planning and sustainability initiatives. The Executive Director collaborates with executive leadership, clinical teams, and external partners to ensure facilities align with organizational goals and healthcare delivery needs.
Minimum Job Qualifications
Licensure or other certifications:
Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in leading facility operations. Must be knowledgeable in Code of Federal Regulations and other regulatory statutes to include facility design standards, environmental laws, and OSHA regulations.

Preferred Licensure or other certifications: GA state mechanical license without restrictions, state boiler operator license and EPD license for UST preferred, CHFM preferred.
Preferred Educational Requirements: Master's Degree in related field strongly preferred. Years of service may be substituted for Master's degree for candidates with extensive experience and proven leadership.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Collaboration with Senior Administrative Leadership Team and Presidents of each acute care hospital
Provides regular reports and proposals to senior leadership team for facility maintenance
Ensures all facilities meet DNV, CMS, OSHA, NFPA, and local/state code requirements
Works closely with senior leadership team on developing annual operating and capital budgets
Align facility upgrades and investments with organizational growth and patient care strategies
Oversees energy pricing and minimizes expense related to current market conditions
Oversees financial operations and optimizes investments for organizational success
Direct preventive and corrective maintenance programs for hospital infrastructure (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, med gas, fire safety)
Maintain critical building systems to guarantee patient safety and operational continuity
Lead, mentor, and develop engineering maintenance staff
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement
Partner with medical, nursing and operations teams to ensure facilities support patient safety and clinical effectiveness
Provide technical expertise for space planning, infection control, and specialized medical infrastructure
Conduct facility condition assessments and risk analyses
Implement corrective actions to reduce hazards and improve patient, staff, and visitor safety
