Join the Assistant Front Office Manager role at IHG Hotels & Resorts. This position supports front office operations and manages daily activities.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing day‑to‑day activities of the Front Office staff and schedule employees to ensure proper coverage.

Recommend and initiate salary, disciplinary, or other staffing/human resources–related actions in accordance with company rules and policies.

Alert management of potentially serious issues.

Ensure all staff is properly trained on systems, security, cash‑handling procedures, and service standards. Provide the tools and equipment needed for their job.

Ensure guests receive prompt, professional attention and personal recognition. Greet guests upon arrival, respond appropriately to complaints, and implement service recovery gestures to ensure total guest satisfaction.

Schedule and conduct routine inspections of front office and public areas to ensure a high appearance. Assist in creating and implementing action plans to correct deficiencies.

Assist in monitoring and controlling labor costs and expenses, and achieving revenue and profitability goals.

Assist in maintaining procedures for securing monies, credit, and financial transactions, and guest security. Check billing instructions and guest credit for compliance with hotel credit policy.

Train staff on PBX operations during emergency or crisis situations.

Promote teamwork through daily communication and coordination with other departments (Accounting, Revenue Management, Sales & Marketing, Catering, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, Maintenance).

Interact with outside contacts: guests, regulatory agencies, professional organizations, community groups, local media.

Serve as manager on duty as required.

Perform other duties during peak periods.

Accountability The assistant manager is the second‑in‑command of Front Office operations in a large, full‑service, luxury resort or flagship hotel, supervising front desk agents, bell‑persons, doorpersons, reservationists, concierge representatives, PBX staff, and related positions.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, or related field, plus two years of front‑office/guest‑services experience, including supervisory experience (or equivalent education and experience).

Fluent English; other languages preferred.

Physical Requirements

Frequently standing at the desk and front office areas.

Carrying or lifting items up to 50 pounds.

Using a keyboard to operate property management and reservation systems.

Communication skills: interacting frequently with guests, employees, and third parties to reflect highly on the hotel, brand, and company.

Reading and writing: completing paperwork, management reports, interpreting results, giving and receiving instructions, and training.

Mathematical skills: basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances.

Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities.

May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Compensation and Benefits The hourly pay range for this role is $26.00 to $28.00.
