Production Operator - Night Shift (Transportation)

The Production Operator is responsible for the various machines which fabricate and assemble paper products such as paper bags.
This position is on the Night Shift, which operates Monday through Thursday from 4:30 p.m. – 3:00 a.m. in our Hammond, LA location.
How you'll make an impact in this role
Follow all safety protocols throughout the plant
Perform quality checks to verify product meets required specs
Observe operation of various machines to detect and correct machine malfunctions such as improper forming, glue flow, or pasteboard tension
Install attachments to machines for gluing, folding, printing, or cutting
Cut products to specified dimensions, using hand or power cutters
Place rolls of paper on machine feed tracks, and thread paper through gluing, coating, and slitting rollers
Monitor finished product as they drop from forming machines into rotating hoppers and into gravity feed chutes to prevent jamming
Adjust guide assemblies, forming bars, and folding mechanisms according to specifications, using hand tools
