Canyon Creek Behavioral Health (affiliated with United Health Systems) is a 102‑bed acute‑care psychiatric hospital located in Temple, Texas. It offers inpatient acute care and intensive outpatient programs for adolescents, adults, and seniors.

Position Summary The Step‑Down Navigator meets with eligible patients to discuss the benefits of step‑down services, communicates eligibility to senior leadership and associated departments, and routinely collects and enters eligibility data into Midas for trending and reporting purposes.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Clinical Services to ensure patients are clinically appropriate for programming.

Collaborate with the Business Office to verify covered benefits and discuss copay responsibilities.

Collaborate with Inpatient Utilization Review to authorize patient step‑down to a different level of care.

Collaborate with Outpatient Services to inform the outpatient program of the patient’s anticipated admission date.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in mental‑health/behavioral sciences preferred.

Experience: Minimum two (2) years in the psychiatric/mental‑health field.

Licensure: N/A.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR Certification and Handle With Care training.
