What Will You Be Doing? The Manager, Operations Analytics employs operations research, statistics and programming skills to improve our operational performance. They will be responsible for compiling, tracking, monitoring and reporting all key operational performance metrics for the business. They apply critical problem-solving skills to deliver data-driven analysis that informs operations decisions across the company.
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical abilities to solve complex problems using data and analytical techniques, and a deep curiosity to learn more about airline operations.
This position reports to Director, Operations Planning & Design.
Essential Functions Technical
Lead reporting of key operational performance metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, with a focus on implementing automated, self-service reporting wherever possible.
Develop dynamic and flexible visualizations and dashboards to illustrate performance, trends and KPIs.
Analyze a range of enterprise-wide data sources to investigate and determine the root cause of operational performance and identify emerging trends.
Construct statistical models to analyze operational scenarios, identify critical insights, and present findings to stakeholders.
Develop and maintain an operational performance forecast used for goal setting and tracking initiative performance.
Create documentation, code standards, code library and workflows. Define operational data structures and implement best practice coding and structure.
Conduct ad-hoc projects, reports and analyses as determined by management.
Collaboration and communication:
Build strong relationships with business partners throughout Scheduling, Operations and Business Intelligence departments to identify new opportunities and deliver data and analytics solutions.
Effectively collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders across the business from diverse technical and non-technical backgrounds.
Clearly communicate the actionable business implications of complex quantitative analyses to senior management.
Leadership:
Manage evaluation of team members, including skill sets, skill development and regular reviews in line with department policies
Mentor team members and foster the development of their programming and analytics skills.
Develop expert status on operational topics and trends across the business and industry
Support the continuous improvement of the Frontier Airlines operation
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related analytical field, or equivalent work experience in lieu.
Advanced degree in above disciplines preferred.
3+ years of professional experience in data analytics, data engineering, programming, or other quantitative fields.
2+ years of direct people leadership experience preferred
Previous professional experience with SQL, Python, R or other coding languages.
Previous professional experience with Power BI or Tableau.
Experience in airline operations, logistics, operations management, network planning, scheduling, revenue management, revenue analytics or similar positions preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Technical skills:
Ability to write SQL code to query against disparate data sources
Familiar with object-oriented programming languages, like Python
Ability to work in and with Power BI or Tableau to create interactive reports and dashboards
Understanding of operations research, statistical, product management, and/or programming solutions and techniques
Knowledge or interest in machine learning and artificial intelligence
Demonstrated understanding of airline network design, economics, and operations management principles preferred

Exemplary written and verbal communication and presentation skills
