Project Manager – Hiring by Hargrove Engineers & Constructors
Position Overview : We are currently seeking a Capital Project Engineer (Intermediate or Senior) at the Louisiana Concentrate Site. The role involves managing a portfolio of capital projects ranging from Asset Sustaining, Opportunity, and Large Capital, across all phases from preliminary scoping to construction management.
Primary Responsibilities
Execute and manage capital projects of varying size and complexity.
Ensure safety, scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.
Manage contractor relationships and foster a positive safety culture.
Administer project approvals, reporting, and schedule updates.
Oversee technical design and third‑party engineering.
Control costs by developing estimates, budgets, and monthly forecasts.
Develop and report on project schedules.
Prepare engineering work packages.
Supervise construction in an industrial environment.
Participate in department initiatives and process definition.
Support site and company initiatives related to safety, production, expansion, and maintenance.
Coach and develop personnel (contractors, trades, training courses, etc.).
Ideal Background Education:
Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university is required.
Registration:
Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is highly preferred.
Experience:
This position requires 4+ years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Broad engineering and construction knowledge in all disciplines is an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Experience with engineering software tools is required.
Highly organized, self‑motivated, and able to manage competing priorities.
Will consider a lower Engineer designation if candidate has fewer years of experience.
Must be able to work in a chemical operating facility environment.
Demonstrated project management experience with strong problem‑solving skills.
Relevant construction management experience in an industrial environment.
Experience delivering projects in an operating industrial plant or brownfield environment.
Strong people‑management, leadership, and written/verbal communication skills.
Ability to supervise technical personnel and work independently.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
