The Role
Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi‑skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge. Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work. Recommends training, assists in development of training procedures, breaks broad strategies into practical action plans, and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans. Ensures compliance with technical aspects of the job, including adherence to drawings and procedures.
Responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company's performance. Supervises qualified trades staff and monitors job and budget performance for all shifts.
Newport News Shipbuilding offers a $5,000 sign‑on bonus to Foreman new hires. Job seekers who apply on qualifying requisitions are eligible. Current NNS employees may also receive the bonus.
