Gallery Books / Simon & Schuster seeks a short‑term Marketing Manager for our dynamic, energetic, and collaborative team.
The right candidate will have experience working with authors, initiating and executing marketing campaigns, collaborating closely across departments, and the ability to multi‑task like a pro.
We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years of experience in book publishing/marketing with a proven track record of creating successful traditional and innovative campaigns for non‑fiction titles.
Experience with high‑profile or celebrity authors is a plus.
The manager will start immediately and will contribute to the team while our Director of Marketing is on leave (approximately five months).
Responsibilities
Manage marketing efforts for approximately 12 titles over two seasons published by the Gallery Books imprint.
Develop and implement marketing plans and promotional assets on a title‑by‑title basis.
Collaborate with the in‑house publicity team on title publishing plans and internal/external communications.
Coordinate marketing efforts with authors and their teams.
Craft social media strategy for author brands and collaborate on social media content for the Gallery Books social channels with the support of the social media manager.
Collaborate closely with production, publicity, editorial, advertising, sales and corporate marketing departments.
Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience in book publishing, marketing, or equivalent.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Keen attention to detail.
Well‑organized and able to prioritize and meet deadlines under pressure.
Proven success in digital marketing, social media campaigns, and social media outreach.
Creative and strategic thinker, as well as assertive and persuasive.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience with Canva is a major plus.

Starting pay depends on various job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training and education.
