About the Role As a Math Tutor at Braintrust Tutors, you'll work virtually with students to strengthen their mathematical reasoning, number sense, and problem‑solving strategies. You'll provide engaging, consistent lessons using Braintrust's curriculum and materials, helping students build foundational math skills and confidence.
Opportunity Details
Accurate Biometrics Illinois Fingerprinting Background Checks are required
Pay rates: $32/hr. for (1:1) | $45/hr. for (1:4)
What You Will Do
Provide virtual small‑group or 1:1 math tutoring to students developing math skills
Implement Braintrust Tutors intervention programs as designed, using all materials with fidelity
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic performance
Collaborate with the Braintrust Tutors Operations team and school staff to support student growth
Foster a supportive and engaging virtual learning environment that promotes focus and confidence
Follow school‑site procedures and policies while maintaining a professional and dependable presence
Use provided assessments and progress monitoring tools for understanding to guide instruction
Manage time effectively during sessions to complete all planned instructional activities
What You Will Have
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
Active or expired teaching license
Knowledge of math instruction that builds number sense, procedural fluency, and problem‑solving skills, with a scope and sequence ranging from counting to multi‑digit arithmetic, including decimals and fractions.
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Comfort with virtual platforms and collaborating remotely with teachers and staff
Punctuality, professionalism, and reliability for all scheduled sessions
Reliable internet connection and appropriate technology for virtual instruction
Passion for math and closing opportunity gaps
