Neuro Pathway
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE
Responsible for performing electroencephalograph (EEG) and other neurodiagnostic examinations according to physicians orders under the supervision of the department manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviews physicians orders/ referring documents report from previous appointments.
Prepares patients for procedures; explains procedure, measures for accurate electrode sites, applies electrodes and adjusts as appropriate.
Performs all test procedures as ordered by the physician.
Monitors and records patients reaction to specific activities such as breathing directions or the introduction of various stimuli, in a thorough and accurate manner.
Summarizes patients neurologic status and clinical history from the chart, patient, or other persons. Explains recording procedure to patient and family members.
Cleans and maintains equipment in good operating condition. Performs minor maintenance and repair of lab equipment, as needed, and promptly reports the need for major repair to the appropriate party.
Other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Associates Degree or 2 years of work experience
Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (preferred)
BLS certification
Basic understanding of neuroanatomy and physiology, neurodiagnostic instrumentation, pattern recognition and various medical and pharmacological conditions that influence the neurodiagnostic recording.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include superior interpersonal and patient contact skills, excellent telephone manner, and strong computer skills.

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (No call or weekends!!)
