Job Description
WSP is currently looking for a Water / Wastewater Engineer to join our Water Team in Phoenix, AZ. The role involves project work for the development of engineering studies, design reports, construction documents and construction oversight/administration related to water and wastewater infrastructure in the municipal and industrial markets in Arizona and across the country.

Your Impact
Work collaboratively with the team, including Senior Engineers
Provide basic engineering services in support of planning, studies, analysis, and design of water treatment and distribution systems, and wastewater collection and treatment systems (pump/lift stations, wells, chemical feed systems, and storage reservoirs)
Under instruction from the Project Engineer, create detailed designs of water and wastewater treatment, water conveyance systems and wastewater collection systems
Setup and perform hydraulic modeling for water distribution and sewer systems
Mentor Junior staff
Ensure timeliness and technical quality of deliverables
Project manage scope, budget and schedules
Work with CAD designers to prepare plans/drawings for water and wastewater infrastructure systems using industry‑standard design platforms, such as AutoCAD, Civil3D and Revit
Work in partnership with members of other WSP offices on projects and project pursuits
Check design computations and quantity estimates
Assist in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects
Occasional field work and travel to project sites in Arizona and the US may be required (approximately 5% overnight travel)
Who You Are / Required Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering or a related engineering degree (MS a plus)
3 to 5+ years of related or relevant experience
Engineer‑in‑Training certification or preparing for the FE or PE exam
Arizona Professional Engineering registration or ability to obtain it a plus
Understanding/experience with detailed designs of water and wastewater treatment, water conveyance systems and wastewater collection systems
Strong organizational, analytical and problem‑solving skills and the ability to work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously
Collaborative team player
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to prepare written reports, coordinate meetings, and conduct effective client presentations
Team‑oriented, hardworking, and intent on doing great work
Willingness to travel to project sites
Responsible for client satisfaction, engineering quality and program success
Must pass a background check and have a satisfactory driving record according to the company’s MVR policy
