Position Summary The Sales Representative position offers an exciting chance to fuel our company's growth. You will oversee a broad array of independent convenience store customers, driving sales through our varied foodservice and convenience programs. Your role extends beyond maintaining existing customers—tapping into new customers and forging strong business relationships—making this a thrilling journey of building success stories and enhancing profitability store by store.
Position Details
Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM‑5 PM.
80% driving/travel required across the Albany / Schenectady NY and surrounding market; some overnight stays may be required.
Car allowance and mileage reimbursement through CarData Program.
Potential travel to Boston OpCo (Whitinsville, MA).
Responsibilities
Grow sales and profit margins through execution of sales strategy and territory management, planning a sales approach customized for individual customers.
Prospect and onboard new customer accounts, including cold-calling to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
Educate the customer on convenience and foodservice programs, new product promotions, marketing policies, service, delivery specifics, and industry activities.
Review daily, weekly, and monthly reports with the store manager and assist with any opportunities that may arise.
Minimize accounts receivable problems by monitoring accounts for compliance with credit terms and following up on any issues.
Maintain awareness of pricing trends within the sales territory to ensure competitive pricing.
Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to increased sales.
Participate in relevant industry events and networking opportunities.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate
Proven success closing sales for various B2B product lines.
Successful sales, travel, and effective time-management experience.
General knowledge of food safety standards, including basic HACCP practice, cold-chain integrity, and Serv‑Safe certification.
Detail‑oriented and organized, able to work independently with little direction.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to conduct professional, results‑driven customer presentations.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
Energetic and entrepreneurial spirit.
Sales experience and a track record of growing market share.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Must own a reliable vehicle with a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
At least 2 years of sales, account management, or business development experience.
Familiarity with Excel.
