$3,000 (depending on length of season and level of competition)

Benefits:

For employees contracted for 30 hours per week or more, Thomas MacLaren School pays for 100% of the employee’s base insurance premiums (Health, Dental, Vision, Long‑term and Short‑term disability, Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance, and Life insurance) for the base level coverages. No benefits are provided to employees contracted for less than 30 hours per week.

General Purpose:

The Head Coach coordinates and implements the School’s athletic program in conformance with School policies, Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) rules (if a high school sport), conference or league policies, and the mission of the School.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Learn the mission of the school and how it applies to Athletics.

Positively represent the school at practice, home and away sporting and non‑sporting events.

Represent the school and its mission to students, parents, colleagues, and the general public.

Champion the student‑athlete and demonstrate active support.

Ensure players adhere to CHSAA rules and league rules; help meet regulatory requirements.

Verify athletes are medically cleared, have been released by parents, and have paid registration fees.

Verify athletes are academically eligible to compete.

Attend and complete required training, including annual Coaching Orientation.

Maintain accurate equipment inventories and check them at season’s end.

Maintain CPR/First Aid certification and complete annual health and safety trainings.

Co‑create a calendar of practices, games, and events with the Athletic Director.

Manage and track issuance of school competition uniforms; ensure return of all property.

Work cooperatively with school staff and administration.

Communicate weekly with parents about practices, games, and program updates.

Attend required trainings or meetings arranged by the Athletic Director.

Conduct a mandatory parent meeting each season.

Coordinate release times of athletes for competitions.

Address discipline concerns and behavior changes with Athletic Director and parents.

Communicate injuries during practice or competition to parental and health offices.

Attend Athletic Honors events; compose and present speeches; present awards to athletes.

Submit athletic expense requests to the Athletic Director.

Respond promptly to staff and parent concerns, calls, and emails.

Provide a channel for students and community to express concerns.

Other duties as needed or assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (preferred) with administrative and/or coaching experience.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational ability, detail oriented.

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Solid working knowledge of CHSAA and conference league rules and procedures.

Experience Experience in sports management or coaching skills.

Physical Requirements

Occasional exposure to extreme cold or heat.

Frequent walking on uneven surfaces.

Occasional lifting of heavy items (over 20 lbs).

Frequent use of computer and other equipment (mouse, keyboard, copier).

Occasional use of drive and outdoor travel within local and national distances.
