Executive Housekeeper / Director of Housekeeping
Job Summary The Housekeeping Inspector / Trainer is responsible for ensuring guest rooms and public areas meet established cleanliness, presentation, and safety standards while also training, coaching, and developing housekeeping staff. This role combines quality control with hands‑on training to maintain consistent service excellence and support team performance.
Key Responsibilities Quality Inspection & Standards
Inspect guest rooms, suites, public, and back‑of‑house spaces to ensure compliance with hotel cleanliness, safety, and brand standards
Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly
Document inspection results and report recurring issues to housekeeping leadership
Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies in accordance with safety guidelines
Training & Development
Train new housekeeping team members on cleaning procedures, room setup, brand standards, and safety protocols
Conduct ongoing refresher training and skills development sessions for existing staff
Demonstrate proper cleaning techniques, time management, and attention to detail
Coach employees through constructive feedback and on‑the‑job training
Operational Support
Assist with daily room assignments and workflow as needed
Support room attendants and housepersons during peak operations
Communicate effectively with the front desk and maintenance regarding room status and repairs
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and OSHA regulations
Leadership & Team Support
Act as a role model by maintaining professional appearance and positive attitude
Promote teamwork, accountability, and high service standards
Assist in evaluating staff performance and recommending additional training when necessary
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel or hospitality setting required
Prior experience as a room inspector, trainer, or supervisor preferred
Strong knowledge of hotel housekeeping standards and cleaning procedures
Ability to train, motivate, and coach team members effectively
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
