Materials Handler with Security Clearance

Responsibilities
Drive on scheduled and unscheduled trips to transport material and equipment.
Operate a forklift and determine the height, width, and length of the forklift and its load.
Receive, unload, and process incoming shipments and assemble items into groups based on information shown on receiving vouchers.
Maintain and process receipts in computerized supply system programs.
Select items for shipment or issue and determine the specific dock and hold location most suitable for each shipment.
Ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Operate under a Mission Essential or Key/Non-Combat Essential classification, providing immediate and continuing support of expeditionary requirements in non‑combat or combat support situations.
Requirements – Conditions of Employment
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit payroll program.
New employees to the Department of the Navy must successfully pass the E‑Verify employment verification check.
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
Male applicants born after 12‑31‑59 must be registered for Selective Service.
Obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty; failure to maintain clearance may result in withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Successfully complete a pre‑appointment physical examination.
Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug test (including marijuana) is required; failure to report or fail the test may rescind a tentative offer. Subject to random testing.
Obtain and maintain a current Forklift Operator’s license.
Obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
May be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators, and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Might be required to lift up to 40 lbs in weight.
May be required to obtain and maintain a current government vehicle operator permit license.
Qualifications
Show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
Screen‑out element: demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of a Materials Handler under normal supervision, including receiving, issuing, storing various types of materials, reading shipping documents, certifying accuracy of deliveries, inspecting for damage, loading/unloading vehicles, using automated warehouse equipment, and reading and understanding warehouse plans.
