Full Job Description Seeking self-motivated individuals with excellent communication and critical thinking skills. The role of a dispatcher is an essential part of the company. Trans-Care Ambulance is a family owned and operated company and one of the largest ambulance services in the state of Indiana. We are a 24/7 dispatch center that is responsible for handling over 100,000 calls per year. We currently operate in 7 different markets in Indiana and Kentucky. Those with backgrounds in customer service, data entry, logistics, or healthcare are encouraged to apply. The position is 36-48 hours per week on overnights, rotating shifts. Candidates must have the capability to work weekends.
Responsibilities
Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record pertinent information.
Dispatch units in the field while keeping track of their location and status.
Monitor CAD grid to ensure efficient utilization is achieved.
Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance.
Keep close contact with facilities regarding patient transportation.
Proactively address problems and suggest solutions.
Qualifications
A clear criminal record with no Federal health care exclusion.
Applicants with a current Priority Dispatch EMD are preferred, but Trans-Care will help an otherwise qualified employee obtain the EMD certification.
