Accounts Payable Clerk – SIG Group
Join our team as an Accounts Payable Clerk in Northlake, IL. This hybrid role will handle day‑to‑day AP activities while maintaining compliance with global and local accounting policies.
Compensation $45,000 – $55,000 per year, plus performance incentives.
Key Responsibilities
Review and verify invoices and expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Verify that receivers, purchase orders, and invoices match in quantity and price.
Send reports and work with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues.
Ensure all discounts are captured timely.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies quickly.
Monitor shared AP inbox.
Review goods receipts reports to identify missing invoices or receiving issues.
Respond to vendor inquiries promptly.
Organize digital invoice and support files for our digital document imaging system.
Assist with month‑end closing activities.
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
Perform backup support, other clerical tasks, and ad‑hoc reporting as needed.
Required Skills & Experience & Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or relevant coursework in accounting or finance preferred.
Minimum of one year of related experience or formal training.
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks).
Effective written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational abilities.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
Prior experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
Familiarity with three‑way matching (invoice, purchase order, and receiving documentation).
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and GAAP.
