Lead Automotive Technician / Master Mechanic
Sun Auto Tire & Service, a leading provider of quality aftermarket automotive repair, maintenance, and tire services, seeks a Lead Automotive Technician/Master Mechanic to diagnose and repair customer vehicles while adhering to MAP guidelines and dealership, manufacturer, and company repair standards.
Compensation Competitive hourly rate: $45.00 per hour to $55.00 per hour depending on experience.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Diagnose vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
Perform work as outlined on the multi‑point inspection and/or repair order with efficiency and accuracy.
Perform complex and heavy‑duty repairs.
Explain technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non‑mechanical individuals, which may include the store manager, service consultants, and/or customers.
Recommend services that are necessary to keep the customer’s vehicle in running condition; properly document all recommendations in the customer file.
Follow all safety procedures and report any concerns to the shop foreman or store manager.
Maintain appropriate ASE certifications and renewals of expiring certifications.
Qualifications
Minimum five years of automotive technician/mechanic experience.
Ability to properly use computerized equipment for diagnostics.
Current, valid driver’s license.
At least 18 years old.
State inspector license or ability to obtain a state inspector license within 30 days of hire date.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Current ASE certifications.
Ability to work Monday–Saturday.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands Exposure to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials and other hazardous and non‑hazardous materials. Temperature varies, including extreme heat and/or extreme cold.
Stand five hours per day and walk to access various building areas.
Bend, stoop, kneel and crouch regularly up to 10 hours per day; full range of motion with arms and hands and ability to feel, handle or finger objects frequently.
Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently.
Hear and speak.
Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re‑focus.
