Assembler – Indianapolis, IN – 1st Shift The Assembler is responsible for assembling components, sub-assemblies, and final products across various manufacturing lines. This role requires proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment to ensure products meet quality standards and customer expectations. Assemblers must adhere to safety protocols, maintain organized workspaces, and collaborate with team members to address challenges and drive improvements.

Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Allegion does not sponsor work visas for this position.

What You Will Do

Assemble basic components using hand tools and equipment that is engineered for light assembly.

Perform repetitive assembly tasks with precision, such as attaching, labeling, and packaging parts.

Inspect products for defects and ensure they meet quality and functionality standards.

Document issues encountered during assembly using tools and standards to verify product quality and functionality.

Track and document production metrics, such as completed units or defects.

Identify and segregate defective parts for review and document quality issues.

Adhere to all safety protocols, use PPE, and report potential hazards.

Perform basic equipment checks.

Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, engineers, and quality control to address challenges and improve processes.

Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to report issues and provide updates.

Maintain a clean, organized workspace and store tools and equipment properly.

Follow step-by-step written or verbal instructions.

Be flexible by working overtime, cross‑training, and adapting to new processes or technologies.

Other duties as assigned.

What You Need To Succeed

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Familiarity with assembly techniques, tools, and equipment.

Basic computer literacy.

Ability to use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and testing equipment effectively.

Ability to produce parts and products to meet quality standards.

Ability to be flexible in role, adjusting to new processes, technologies, or production requirements.

Physical Demands

Ability to handle parts and tools with precision.

Perform repetitive motions (bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, lifting, gripping, and grasping with hands).

Standing Duration: Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift.

Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.

Ability to work in environments with noise, chemicals, dust, sharp objects, moving/rotating mechanical parts, and temperature extremes.
