About the Hospital Established in 1974, Henrico Doctors' Hospital is a 340‑bed community hospital offering cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, oncology, physical therapy, women's services and a 24/7 emergency department. Operated by HCA Healthcare, it consists of three community campuses – Henrico, Parham, and Retreat Doctors' Hospital – along with a free‑standing emergency center.

Job Summary and Responsibilities Neurodiagnostic Assistant PRN

responsibilities:

Perform continuous observation of EMU (Epileptic Monitor Unit) patients and add comments as needed.

Assist with video monitoring system and camera controls, set up equipment before testing according to department policy.

Perform minor adjustments of electrodes if EEG tech is not available; disconnect patients according to department policy; clean and restock EMU equipment.

Facilitate department workflow with tasks such as burning CDs, cleaning other equipment, following up on Physician Reports and other office duties.

Maintain work areas of the Neurodiagnostic Department with necessary supplies and notify when supplies need to be ordered; keep areas clean and orderly to promote patient safety.

Take and document vital signs.

Assist patients with ADLs and toileting.

Perform Seizure assessment protocol.

Qualifications

Possess entry‑level PC or Microsoft Windows knowledge.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of start date.

Associate Degree preferred.

American Epilepsy Society: EMU Caring Modules required (within first 6 months).

Nihon Khoden: Basic EEG Acquisition and Review required (within first 6 months).

12 months experience in a medical setting required.

12 months experience in a Neurodiagnostic setting preferred.
