Fertilizer Plant Lead
A well‑known and reputable Ag company in the area is looking to add a Fertilizer Plant Lead to their team. This position will be responsible for supervising a liquid and/or dry fertilizer facility.
Base pay range $24.00/hr – $28.00/hr
Essential Duties
Understand and efficiently operate liquid and dry fertilizer plant
Collaborate with agronomy procurement to manage inventory, price and quantity needs, and delivery timing
Learn and understand agronomy operations, contracts, work orders, logistics, dispatching and other agronomy related functions
Understand customer licensing requirements for restricted‑use pesticides
Understand the capabilities and limitations of equipment (floaters, rogatates, tenders, etc.)
Maintain and understand records of chemical repackaging agreements and record keeping
Ensure personnel and physical assets meet company safety, environmental, health, regulatory, maintenance, quality and customer standards
Follow safety procedures in maintaining warehouses
Understand weighing systems and closely follow established procedures
Assist patrons at the location in a professional and courteous manner with agronomic purchasing decisions
Coordinate with custom applicators and tanks on the spreading, spraying and delivery of bulk fertilizer to assure the most cost effective use of equipment
Plan, assign and direct work
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Knowledge
High School or GED diploma
2+ years experience in an agronomy role preferred
General mechanical ability required
Ability to communicate in a professional manner and establish effective working relationships with internal operations and external customers
Pay $24–$28/hr
