Throughout history, Mercedes-Benz has led many automotive innovations and now embraces a sustainable future with its new U.S. van assembly plant in Charleston, SC. As part of this growth, the HR Project Specialist will manage a wide range of HR projects to improve programs and create efficiencies. The role collaborates and coordinates with HR management and colleagues to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Manage project milestones and deliverables; determine need for external project resources.

Assess current HR programs, identify areas for improvement, develop objectives and action plans, and implement them.

Create a continuous‑improvement culture within HR, leading the team to identify processes for improvement and drive change in response to business requirements.

Manage the annual performance and potential review process for the organization, instructing managers on their responsibilities.

Serve as a subject‑matter expert for HR professionals, managers, and specialists across the company to ensure success of HR programs, processes, and employee communication initiatives.

Facilitate workshops on a variety of business and HR topics.

Lead management evaluation processes, ensuring clear communication and effective execution.

Train managers and leaders across the business to improve communication strategies and channels across departments and between employees and management.

Identify workflow/process improvements and direct the HR team to implement necessary changes.

Lead assigned business processes and activities for HR operations.

Partner with managers and specialists throughout the business to resolve complex issues, reducing escalations and ensuring compliance.

Analyze and interpret business process issues and make recommendations to senior management and the wider HR team regarding system updates and process improvements.

Communicate new initiatives and changes to management, department heads, and the executive board.

Assign duties or responsibilities to project stakeholders, monitor performance, and provide feedback.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business.

A minimum of 5‑10 years of Human Resources operation experience.

Experience in Human Resources within manufacturing strongly preferred.

Significant experience with process improvement strongly preferred.
