Description

The Senior Planning Analyst will act as a subject matter expert regarding regulatory activities in Customer Operations coordinating rate case activities, preparing regulatory filings, and managing implementation of PSC Orders. This role in the Customer Operations Regulatory and Strategy section is an opportunity to apply cross‑disciplinary skills, collaborate closely with diverse teams, and directly contribute to the planning, development, and execution of strategy for the Customer Operations organization’s programs and services.

Responsibilities

Keep up to date with pertinent regulatory proceedings that impact the Company and customers. Represent Con Edison at meetings with external stakeholders.

Regularly create and present insightful and detailed analysis on regulatory issues and business trends and develop information supporting Company positions and programs. Present to upper management and executives as well as outside stakeholders.

Interpret regulatory filings and lead cross‑functional teams to comply with new or revised regulations.

Prepare filings and responses to Commission Orders and Notices regarding new Customer Operations programs. Prepare testimony, exhibit and work papers for use in regulatory proceedings.

Cultivate relationships within Customer Operations, throughout the Company and with external stakeholders. Partner with Corporate Affairs, Rate Engineering, Law, other Customer Energy Solutions teams, Corporate Accounting, IT, and other organizations as needed.

Track Customer Operations compliance with rate case and other regulatory requirements including development and management of project plans and executive updates.

Maintain well organized files and accurate records including maintaining backup for reports and computer files, and safeguarding computer facilities, reports and work papers.

Perform other administrative duties including but not limited to training coordination, events planning and various procurement responsibilities.

Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of work experience.

Preferred Education: Master’s Degree MBA or MPP with at least 2 years of work experience, Juris Doctorate.

Experience: 3 years’ experience in analyst or managerial position with skill in leadership and operational analyses.

Analytical experience: research and report writing.

Strong writing and oral communication skills.

Ability to interact and partner with various levels of management and internal/external organizations.

Experience handling multiple assignments and changing priorities.

Experience working independently and making sound business decisions.

Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Experience in Project Management.

Regulatory or energy industry experience.

Experience developing policy positions preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

Driver’s License Required

Additional Physical Demands

The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non‑business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as required.

Must be able to participate in the Company’s emergency management processes and storm plans as required.
