The

Quality Assurance & Control Specialist

plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance are maintained across a diverse range of projects of varying size from tens of thousands of dollars to several million dollars. This position may require travel to various project sites, overseeing quality control processes, conducting inspections, and collaborating with project teams to achieve exceptional results.

Essential Job Functions Safety

Must place the utmost importance on safety for TMG employees and subcontractors

Reads, understands, applies, and communicates TMG safety standards, per the Field Operations Playbook and Safety Policy

Always applies and enforces OSHA standards, with no exceptions.

Quality Control Oversight

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality control processes and procedures for all restoration and reconstruction projects

Continuously monitor project progress to ensure adherence to company standards and industry regulations

Inspection and Compliance

Conduct regular on‑site inspections to assess workmanship, materials, and safety compliance

Identify and address non‑compliance issues and provide guidance to project teams for corrective action

Professional Etiquette

Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with colleagues, clients, and external partners

Ensure the same of all project management staff and subs

Uphold the company's code of conduct and ethical standards in all interactions

Professional Attire

Ensure project team (including subcontractors) always adhere to the Company’s dress code policy and professional appearance

Ensure appropriate safety gear is being utilized for different project environments, as necessary

Emergency Response and Crisis Management

Be available for immediate travel to disaster‑stricken areas as part of emergency response efforts

Coordinate quality control measures during crisis situations and natural disasters

Team Collaboration

Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other team members to ensure quality goals are met

Facilitate cross‑functional communication to resolve quality‑related issues

Supplier and Subcontractor Relations

Evaluate the quality of materials and services provided by suppliers and subcontractors

Foster positive relationships with external partners to ensure consistent quality standards

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement in quality control procedures

Implement best practices and provide recommendations for enhancing project outcomes

Documentation and Reporting

Create detailed quality control reports documenting findings and recommendations

Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and compliance documentation

Training and Education

Collaborate with project teams to provide training on quality control processes and best practices

Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and regulations, and ensure the team is informed and trained accordingly

Education/Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience managing projects within the construction, restoration, or reconstruction industry

Must hold current OSHA‑30 certification or be able to obtain within first 30 days

Previous experience and knowledge of construction worksite safety practices and procedures

Previous experience and knowledge of OSHA and other applicable federal, state and local safety regulations and standards

Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred, but can be substituted with sufficient, applicable experience. A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is a plus.

Certifications in quality control or related fields are a plus

Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices

Familiarity with project management and construction management software and tools

Must be able to successfully pass a pre‑employment criminal, driving and drug screen

Must possess a current and valid state driver’s license and a clean driving record

Qualifications

Advanced skill level using Excel required with proficiency in all other Microsoft products

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational and time management skills

Strong desire for continuous process improvement

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Has detailed technical knowledge of the construction process; construction technology; and the work of multiple trades, including quality workmanship, testing, and building code requirements.

Has a strong feel for man‑hour production rates and material costs. Able to review schedules of values, invoices. Provides guidance to Project Engineers in reviewing proposals or preparing change order estimates.

Has a conceptual understanding of CPM scheduling and a strong feel for activity durations. Reviews CPM schedule submittals and updates and assists in developing schedule recovery plans and reviewing delay claims.

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties the employee is regularly required to make use of close vision to read engineering blueprints and reduced size black and white drawings, specifications, fine print, reports, schedules, estimates, spreadsheets, summaries and other documents in either hard copy or computer monitor. Must be able to converse on the telephone and in person, use hands and fingers to write and type, prepare email messages with attached files, and use personal computers and calculators. While performing the duties of this job the employee may be exposed to conditions that include weather such as heat and/or humidity and cold, fumes or airborne particles, exposure to dust and asphalt, and moving mechanical parts. There may be occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Conditions can also include risk of electrical shock and risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment can often be loud.

Work Environment The work environment described here is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the job. The employee works 85% outdoors in an uncontrolled environment. Twenty percent will be indoors in an office job site trailer with a mix of natural, incandescent, and fluorescent light. The trailer may be air‑conditioned and furnished with a personal computer, a desk or work surface and a chair. The trailer may be located within an active construction site where noise levels may be high. The employee will be required to supervise and observe construction progress outdoors by walking and/or driving the site over rough or uneven terrain which may be dusty, muddy, wet, and noisy. The employee will follow safety regulations enforced at the job.
