Project Manager – Fire Sprinkler Protection
Be an integral part of a distinguished Facilities Services provider specializing in innovative fire protection solutions. As a Fire Protection Project Manager, you will take charge of critical safety projects, ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and client satisfaction. This opportunity offers the chance to lead complex projects from estimation through completion, delivering essential fire safety systems that protect people and properties across the Columbus, Ohio region.
Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Review blueprints, specifications, and project documentation to develop accurate estimates for time, cost, materials, and labor.
Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and suppression system installations.
Evaluate and compare subcontractor and vendor quotes for accuracy and competitiveness.
Prepare and submit comprehensive bid proposals within required deadlines.
Conduct site visits and pre-bid meetings to assess existing fire protection systems and define project scope.
Ensure all project estimates and installations comply with NFPA codes, local regulations, and client requirements.
Oversee project profitability, billing, change orders, collections, and timely completion of all project milestones.
Coordinate proper manpower allocation and equipment resources for project execution.
Communicate effectively with superintendents, construction managers, general contractors, and internal departments throughout the project lifecycle.
Must-Have Skills
Minimum of 3 years prior project management experience with fire protection systems.
5 years commercial Fire Sprinkler field experience (preferred).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Strong organizational, detail orientation, and verbal/written communication skills.
General knowledge of fire sprinkler installation, NFPA codes, and building codes.
Fire Sprinkler/Standpipe license.
Proficient computer skills and good math aptitude.
Valid Driver’s License and OSHA 30 certification.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline.
General accounting skills and commercial project billing experience.
Experience coordinating with inspection and testing teams for deficiency and repair pricing.
Ability to climb ladders and navigate active job sites as required.
Familiarity with buyout processes, job closeouts, and project management reporting.
Experience with material take-offs, pre-fabrication planning, and project scheduling.
