Overview The Merchandising Team Manager leads a team of associates in the strategic execution of store operations, merchandising and facilities activities to deliver a positive customer experience and drive store sales, key metrics, and profitability. This exempt position reports to the Store Manager and has monthly bonus eligibility.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate a high level of ownership and accountability to achieve store objectives and key metrics.
Lead back‑of‑house operations: receiving, processing inbound deliveries, readying products for the sales floor, handling damages, managing outbound shipments and supporting store fulfillment.
Support front‑of‑house operations: product placement, floor sets, stock replenishment, facilities maintenance, pricing, promotional sets, audits and customer service.
Collaborate with selling and visual merchandising teams to maintain merchandising presentations that meet visual merchandising directives and store standards.
Participate in weekly leadership workload planning to pre‑plan, schedule and execute all merchandising and operations tasks aligned with company priorities.
Build team knowledge of merchandising, operations and omni processes, ensuring associates are trained to execute consistently and effectively.
Set clear team priorities and expectations, coaching conversations, and continuous teaching to enhance associate performance and store results.
Drive team retention and engagement, recognizing contributions, celebrating store achievements and fostering a positive store culture.
Support recruitment, interviewing and onboarding to maintain a ready‑now bench of store talent.
Maintain inventory accuracy, asset protection standards, safety guidelines and security protocols.
Required Skills and Abilities
Analytical decision‑making using analytics, experience and judgment.
Commitment to continuous learning and growth.
Mentorship and coaching through effective communication.
Self‑directed, deadline‑driven with minimal supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Comfortable with technology, including smartphones, tablets and Windows‑based systems.
3+ years of experience in Visual Merchandising or Retail Management.
Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Ability to move around all store areas, bend, reach, stretch and lift, carry or move at least 50 lbs.
Ability to push/pull receiving equipment weighing up to 500 lbs.
Employment Type Full‑time
Compensation Salary range: $80,000.00–$105,000.00 (Charlotte, NC) or $91,500.00–$119,000.00 (Charlotte, NC)
