Job Description Allied Universal is currently hiring an Operations Manager who will be responsible for staffing, scheduling and processing payroll for all Security Professionals within the assigned client sites in the Division or Branch. The role includes maintaining regular communications with Security Professionals, resolving issues regarding pay, morale and complaints; managing overtime through effective scheduling; and administering disciplinary, coaching, and termination actions as needed. The position will also take prompt action on employee performance or conduct complaints and conduct routine termination procedures. A comprehensive, week‑long onboarding course will be provided to support the new manager.
Responsibilities
Interview and hire qualified applicants to fill open post positions proactively and timely, following company interviewing guidelines. Evaluate low‑performing employees for replacement, upgrade or transfer.
Makes initial/conditional job offers and job transfers using company forms and procedures, offering rates, schedules and benefits in alignment with contract requirements. Publishes the weekly Open Post List and manages job openings within the division/branch.
Creates, modifies, and manages post schedules in Winteam to ensure adequate coverage at all times. Keeps schedules updated regularly.
Ensures all positions are staffed according to contract requirements and manages branch overtime through proper scheduling and staffing. Maintains a qualified pool of rovers for backfill of vacant positions.
Receives weekly timesheets, updates Winteam schedules, runs bi‑weekly payroll, and ensures records are properly maintained. Resolves payroll discrepancies promptly and communicates status to affected employees.
Follows all company policies regarding timekeeping, meal and rest period breaks, signatures, and conducts weekly audits of timekeeping records for accuracy.
Processes final paychecks, anniversary bonuses and other pay‑related issues, and executes the distribution of such pay. Acts as Company representative in unemployment hearings, workers’ compensation hearings/depositions, union meetings, state agency activities, depositions, and other related liability matters.
Conducts disciplinary and counseling sessions with Security Professionals as needed in a proactive and professional manner, ensuring all issues are documented and properly followed up.
Initiates termination procedures for voluntary and involuntary separations, executes termination meetings, and completes all follow‑up documentation.
Maintains regular proactive contact with Security Professionals to ensure effective utilization, proper training, and readiness for placement. Reviews “No Hours Report” with HR staff weekly and disposes employees on “no hours” status in accordance with company policy.
Maintains high employee morale and low turnover through effective communication and timely problem resolution. Ensures consistent execution of hiring, counseling, disciplinary, and termination procedures.
Enforces post‑specific policies and procedures through communication and training, and may utilize field training staff to assist in post‑specific training.
Maintains a well‑organized work area and meets all daily, weekly, and bi‑weekly deadlines. Prepares and runs all required reports and takes appropriate action to address discrepancies or operational issues.
Performs additional projects or tasks as directed by managers.
Qualifications
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3‑5 years of professional‑level experience managing non‑exempt employees in a fast‑paced, service organization.
Must secure a valid Guard License if required by state; must complete a behavioral assessment, all new‑hire paperwork, background/reference evaluation, and a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test.
Current state driver’s license and the ability to safely operate a vehicle; may be required to drive to client sites as needed.
Ability to write effective and concise reports, document investigations and counseling sessions, and communicate coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions professionally.
Demonstrated working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office; ability to learn and operate timekeeping and payroll programs such as Winteam, eHub, and CyCop.
Customer‑service oriented with ability to interact with all levels, including Security Professionals, Vice Presidents, and clients; able to de‑escalate situations before they become hostile.
Energetic and focused personality; ability to take initiative, handle and prioritize multiple assignments, manage deadlines, and demonstrate integrity and fairness in all situations.
Professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; able to read, write, and speak English clearly and concisely.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior security industry and/or military experience.
College degree or coursework.
Experience in scheduling, operations, and/or employee management in a service‑related industry.
