Job Description Position Title:

First Line Leader Maintenance – Electrical and Instrumentation, Paper/PS&D

Pay Rate:

$89,000 – $130,500 (varies by experience)

Category/Shift:

Salaried Full‑Time

Physical Location:

3203 International Dr., Selma, AL – Riverdale Mill, a fully integrated pulp and paper manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and direct the E/I team to achieve safety, engagement, and reliability excellence.

Manage team compliance with company and mill policies, procedures, and other requirements.

Approve pay and vacation scheduling for the team, performing other administrative tasks consistent with labor agreements and policies.

Conduct one‑on‑ones with employees to provide guidance and development feedback.

Identify training needs and implement hard and soft skill training plans.

Coordinate with operations to prioritize and schedule maintenance activities.

Coordinate with the AMM and other mill areas to share maintenance resources when necessary.

Implement and sustain 5S and other continuous improvement initiatives.

Efficiently plan and schedule daily resources to support maintenance.

Assess crew training needs and offer learning opportunities.

Respond to off‑shift, off‑day, and maintenance shift problems.

Manage team’s time, attendance, performance, and record‑keeping.

Communicate maintenance activities to operations via daily and weekly planning meetings.

Troubleshoot equipment issues and support solution implementation.

Serve as contractor coordinator for vendor resources when necessary.

Serve as a key member of the MWS team and fulfill responsibilities within the MWS process.

Complete duties in alignment with IP reliability systems (RCFA, PM/PdM, Precision Maintenance).

Apply PLC knowledge; experience with Allen Bradley and ABB drive systems is desirable.

Improve existing or implement new work systems to sustain progress.

Serve on a weekend duty team for the Maintenance department.

Required Skills & Qualifications

B.S. degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.

3–5 years’ experience in manufacturing, preferably in mechanical maintenance and/or paper‑industry operations.

Supervisory experience (previously or at least 5 years). Experience with people‑management.

Completion of the IP Front Line Leader modules or other leadership development preferred.

Maintenance experience in a pulp & paper facility is desirable.

Ability to manage and lead multiple projects.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP PM applications.

Active learner with ability to develop direct reports.

Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented team player.
