Job Summary The Facility Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, and operational readiness of the warehouse facility. This role ensures that building systems, equipment, and grounds are properly maintained to support efficient warehouse operations while complying with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities Facility & Maintenance Management
Oversee day-to-day facility operations, including building maintenance, utilities, HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and structural integrity.
Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for warehouse infrastructure and material handling equipment.
Coordinate repairs and maintenance with internal teams and external contractors.
Monitor facility condition and address issues proactively to minimize downtime.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire codes, environmental regulations, and company safety policies.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the facility.
Manage emergency preparedness plans, including fire drills and evacuation procedures.
Investigate facility-related incidents and implement corrective actions.
Vendor & Contractor Management
Select, negotiate, and manage relationships with service providers and contractors.
Review contracts, service-level agreements, and performance metrics.
Ensure contractors follow safety and security requirements while on‑site.
Budgeting & Cost Control
Develop and manage the facility maintenance budget.
Track expenses and identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
Approve invoices and monitor spending against budget.
Asset & Infrastructure Management
Maintain accurate records of facility assets, equipment, inspections, and maintenance activities.
Plan and oversee facility upgrades, renovations, and space optimization projects.
Support warehouse layout changes to improve operational efficiency.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with warehouse operations, HR, IT, and security teams.
Serve as the primary point of contact for facility‑related issues.
Communicate maintenance schedules and disruptions to warehouse leadership.
Qualifications Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred).
5+ years of experience in facilities or maintenance management, preferably in a warehouse or industrial environment.
Experience managing vendors, budgets, and maintenance programs.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of building systems and warehouse infrastructure.
Understanding of OSHA and workplace safety standards.
Excellent problem‑solving and organizational skills.
Strong leadership and communication abilities.
Proficient in CMMS systems and Microsoft Office.
