About the position:
We are seeking a Director Non-Financial Risk Management to lead INGs efforts in identifying, assessing, and mitigating non-financial risks, ensuring compliance with Federal Reserve (Fed) and New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) regulations. This role requires a strategic, detail-oriented leader who can work independently while fostering strong teamwork and collaboration across departments.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for enhancing INGs non-financial risk management ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Experience working in FBO (Foreign Bank Office) is key.

About the department:
In todays fast-paced and ever evolving world, risk extends beyond financial factors. Our Non-Financial Risk department plays a critical role in supporting the 1st LoD in assessing, managing, and mitigating risks by our 2nd LoD role in advising, monitoring and challenging.

Responsibilities :
- Support 1st LoD to Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to people, processes and systems.
- Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive non-financial risk management framework in compliance with Fed and NYDFS regulations.
- Ensure ING meets all non-financial risk regulatory requirements from the Fed, NYDFS, and other relevant authorities.
- Oversee the development of risk policies, procedures, and internal controls to align with regulatory expectations.
- Monitor emerging risks and regulatory developments, ensuring proactive risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead risk assessments and scenario analysis to evaluate potential exposures.
- Work cross-functionally with business units, compliance, and internal audit teams to drive risk management initiatives.
- Provide risk advisory support to senior leadership, ensuring informed decision-making.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance risk awareness across the organization.
- Foster a collaborative, risk-aware culture, balancing risk mitigation with business objectives.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelors degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Masters preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in non-financial risk management within banking (FBO) or financial institution.
- In-depth knowledge of Fed and NYDFS regulations related to operational and enterprise risk.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and drive risk initiatives.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with experience working cross-functionally.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership abilities.
Base Salary Range - $215K - $275K
