Do you enjoy working with neurodiverse children? Want to gain a wide range of pediatric therapy experience? Join the Eyas Landing team as we grow our Merlin Day Academy program! Merlin Day Academy is Eyas Landing's newest innovative program designed to provide education and therapeutic intervention in a supportive classroom environment. Support students with disabilities from ages 3-21. Under the direction of a licensed special education teacher and therapists, the teacher assistant supports the goals of Individual Education Plans (IEP's) and Behavior Plans by modeling the necessary skills to perform assignments; following educational and specific behavioral plans; modeling appropriate behaviors and interactions with students and staff; and assisting students by providing for special health care needs. Successful candidates will have a desire to assist students with specialized needs to achieve their goals and reach their highest potential, knowledge (or the ability to obtain knowledge of) best practices for working with children that have specialized needs.
Responsibilities Development of therapeutic relationship between self and children with assistance of therapists and teachers as needed. Engage with students and promote their participation in therapeutic and education activities Assist in maintaining a safe environment for all our children and staff Assist with lunchroom prep Assist with daily data collection. Assist in therapy room and lesson preparation Assist clients with toileting, as needed. Assist in cleaning and organizing Merlin Day Academy facility. Directly report to supervisor for daily tasks Assist in additional tasks as needed. Participate in yearly performance review with supervisor and Clinic Director. Participate in all required company orientation. Follow all company policies and procedures.
Teacher Assistant Paraprofessional Requirements Bachelors degree, preferred At least 60 semester hours of college credit or successful completion of a paraprofessional exam Willingness to obtain a paraprofessional license Ability to lift 35lbs

Our Teacher Assistant Paraprofessional team support an innovative program for neurodiverse students. Merlin Day Academy is a private, therapeutic day school that provides students with autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other neuro-diverse learning needs ages 6 to 12 an intensive, individualized educational environment that cultivates relationship-based, family-centered care. Our collaborative team of therapeutic assistant paraprofessionals work alongside our clinicians to provide special education, social work, occupational therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), developmental therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, language therapy, nutrition, and feeding therapy services.
