Work Arrangement 12‑hour shifts on vessel (as needed). Meal & lodging provided. 10% travel to and from vessel.
What You’ll Do The AB (Able Body Seaman) will impart vessel knowledge to crew and orient new personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Provide on‑job training.
Communicate Management System requirements to company representatives, regulatory personnel, and crew.
Act as Person in Charge during emergencies.
Perform additional duties as assigned, including bridge watch.
Handle lines and maintain painted surfaces, sanitation, and general upkeep.
Report any shortcomings, inaccuracies, or conflicts in the Management System to the master.
Exercise good judgment and adhere to safety rules and regulations.
Identify and communicate technical issues effectively.
Education & Credentials
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
Required Qualifications
Valid USCG MMC with minimum AB Limited or higher.
ABE Seafarer-Deck, Basic Training, RFPNW, VPDSD/Security Awareness, proficiency in survival craft.
Valid USCG 719k Medical Certificate (STCW).
Valid TWIC Card.
Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
HUET with CAEBS or BOSIET with CAEBS or FOET with CAEBS.
Experience
1 year of verifiable related experience preferred; recent graduates encouraged.
Technical Skills
Familiar with rigging equipment; ability to set up, repair, and use for moving equipment.
Ability to signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads.
