Job Summary:

The Health Record Technician I (HRT I) processes Release of Information (ROI) requests, prepares and scans patient documents, and maintains ROI request logs under the supervision of an HRT II. The position is limited to 12 months, with potential extension up to 24 months or conversion to permanent.

Responsibilities:

Process ROI document requests in accordance with CDCR and CCHCS policies.

Assist in sorting, prepping, and scanning patient documents.

Maintain tracking logs of ROI requests.

Ensure compliance with Institutional Local Operating Procedures (LOP).

Minimum Qualifications:

Option I:

One year of California state service clerical experience with training and supervised work in the procurement and processing of health data.

Option II:

Two years of clerical experience in a medical or health records section of a health facility, or an equivalent academic curriculum in medical records science.

High‑school diploma or equivalent.

Must pass the HEALTH RECORD TECHNICIAN I eligibility exam.
