Temp Seasonal - Water Aerobics Instructor
City of Spokane invites applications for the position of Temp Seasonal - Water Aerobics Instructor. Responsible for leading and teaching specialized water aerobics instruction to patrons of all fitness levels at the City of Spokane outdoor pools. Employee will plan, coordinate, and teach all aspects of classes offered. Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills are essential. Classes are offered at various work locations such as Shadle, Hillyard, and Witter aquatic centers.
Reports to Facility Managers; Aquatic Supervisory Staff.
Responsibilities
Lead and teach specialized water aerobics instruction to patrons of all fitness levels.
Plan, coordinate, and teach all aspects of classes offered.
Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
Instruct patrons on effective workout methods; explain proper techniques, demonstrate exercises, identify different muscle groups, and teach appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles.
Have thorough knowledge and application of teaching styles in coordination with certified organization standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be at least 16 years of age at the time of appointment.
Possess a valid government issued ID and Social Security Card.
Required to submit to background check.
Availability to work early morning, evening, or weekend shifts.
Water Aerobics Instruction certification preferred.
Desired Skills
Thorough knowledge and application of teaching styles in coordination with certified organization standards.
Excellent communication and time management skills.
Compensation and Benefits
Local 270 is the sole bargaining agent for temp seasonal employees.
Temp seasonal employees receive paid sick leave in accordance with state sick leave legislation.
