General Summary:
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for executing general office duties, and payments of goods and services necessary for the basic operation of the Accounting Department team and Safer’s overall performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Interface and Service
- Assist the accounting team as needed for back-up support in case of absence.
- Assist Purchasing and Disbursements Manager in processing purchase orders and disbursements
- Assist the billing specialist in reviewing supporting documentation from subawards partners to disburse payment monthly
- Copy and distribute Safer Financials reports in a timely and prompt manner
Tracking, Document, and Reporting
- Generated purchase orders (POs) for Accounting and RTP
- Purchase office and operational supplies for the agency
- Matched purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices; ensure accuracy and proper documentation for all invoices and Pos
- Enter monthly billing for intercompany invoices
- Maintain contract files for each grant for each fiscal year
- Other projects as assigned by manager
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of accounting, understanding of the general ledger accounts and how they relate to invoice
- Hands-on experience and self-sufficiency with Microsoft productivity tools, including Outlook (for email), Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and online collaboration tools (video conferencing, Zoom/Teams, messaging).
- Basic Math and English skills
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent two-year college or technical school
- 2 or more years related experience and/or training; clerical and/or general office experience
Licenses and or Certifications:
