Attorney Development & Recruiting Coordinator
Keker, Van Nest & Peters LLP is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative Attorney Development & Recruiting Coordinator to support all aspects of attorney recruiting and development. This role partners closely with the Hiring Committee (HC), Summer Program Committee (SPC), and other firm departments to ensure smooth execution of recruiting operations, onboarding, and orientation.
Key Responsibilities
Professional Development & Training
- Coordinate the planning, logistics, and execution of attorney training programs, CLEs, and firm-wide development initiatives.
- Track CLE compliance and maintain training attendance records.
- Assist Training Committee with implementing various attorney trainings throughout the firm.
Attorney Performance Management
- Support mid-year and end-of-year performance review process.
- Assist with compiling evaluation packets and review committee meetings.
- Maintain and track confidential review data.
- Help generate reports and summaries related to evaluations and attorney progression.
Attorney Onboarding & Integration
- Assist with onboarding and orientations for new attorneys and summer associates.
- Coordinate orientation schedules and other onboarding materials.
- Assist with processing bar stipends, clerkship bonuses, and relocation reimbursements in collaboration with HR and Payroll.
- Act as a resource for attorneys and help promote a positive, supportive professional environment.
Hiring Committee & Recruiting Operations
- Coordinate the hiring process for post-clerkship and summer associate candidates.
- Manage the attorney recruiting inbox, applicant tracking systems (viGlobal), and candidate files.
- Schedule and support interviews (screeners and callbacks), including logistics, tech setup, and attorney pairings.
- Prepare evaluation packets, maintain status trackers, and circulate materials before committee meetings.
- Assist with reference checks, offers, and onboarding coordination with HR and Conflicts.
- Support the Summer Program Committee in planning and executing all aspects of the Summer Program.
- Assist with updating materials (binders, calendars, feedback packets, and evaluation forms).
- Assist with orientations, trainings, mentor assignments, and summer associate events.
- Track work assignments, evaluations, and project feedback; assist with end-of-summer evaluations and off-boarding.
Law Schools & OCI
- Coordinate On-Campus Interview (OCI) registration and communications with law schools and student groups.
- Schedule interview teams, coordinate OCI logistics, and serve as firm contact for participating schools.
- Assist with OCI registration.
Desired Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; experience in legal, professional services, or HR strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in law school career services, or professional recruiting or development within a law firm or similar environment.
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask and meet multiple and/or tight deadlines effectively under pressure.
- High level of discretion and professionalism with confidential information.
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, and act independently while knowing when to seek guidance.
- Strong professional demeanor and interpersonal skills; comfortable interacting with attorneys and leadership; approaches colleagues and candidates with a client-service framework.
- Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), iManage, Adobe Acrobat, Google Docs, and Zoom.
- Experience with viGlobal, Symplicity, and 12Twenty is a plus.
Work Environment
- Full-time, with flexibility for overtime as business needs require.
- This is a hybrid role based in our San Francisco office, working in-office at least three days per week. At times, the Coordinator may be required to work in-office more than the standard three days per week.
Compensation and Classification
- Salary Range: $95,000 – $110,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications).
- FLSA Status: This position is non-exempt.
