Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to establish best practices, document and implement standard work within our manufacturing processes. This role requires a hands-on approach to inspect and ensure equipment meets design and engineering specifications, and to be actively involved in the complete design and execution of processes.
Responsibilities- Establish and document best practices for standard work.
- Inspect equipment and processes to ensure compliance with design and engineering specifications.
- Engage in the complete design and execution of manufacturing processes, including fixtures, templates, and locators.
- Construct and maintain equipment used in manufacturing processes.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Review and analyze manufacturing functions to suggest improvements for efficiency, quality, safety, and cost.
- Provide programming assistance on manufacturing machines and train employees accordingly.
- Review and address cost-saving suggestions from employees.
- Act as a liaison between design, engineering, and manufacturing, ensuring coordination of specifications and requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing management to provide practical training.
- Participate in sourcing projects, including documenting or reverse engineering items.
- Comply with OSHA, EPA, local regulatory laws, and company safety policies.
- Assist the Quality department in identifying root cause preventive actions.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or industrial technology.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Experience with set-up, support, manual assembly cells, and assembly cells.
- Ability to read and understand engineering blueprints.
- Strong mathematical abilities and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with Lean manufacturing concepts.
- Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation.
- Experience with IoT product implementation.
- Experience with data automation and analytical tools.
- Experience in both discrete and process-based manufacturing environments.
This position requires a fully onsite presence from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. The work environment is a combination of office and warehouse settings, with offices located in the front and the warehouse in the back. The role involves active engagement on the plant floor and interaction with a direct management style.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Romeoville, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.26 - $48.07/hr.
