The Company is seeking a Managing Director for Nature Finance, who will lead a team of impact finance professionals in the development and execution of impact investment and sovereign debt products. The successful candidate will be a senior finance expert with a strong background in debt and structured finance, including experience in emerging markets. Responsibilities include providing oversight and input into the development of both sovereign and investment capital, structuring transactions to deliver conservation outcomes, and managing a team that is involved in all stages of deal-making, from scoping to financial close. The role also involves cultivating strategic relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including financial institutions, NGOs, and government entities, and representing the company at industry events.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 9 years' related work experience, with a preference for those with 15-20 years' in financial services and transactions. The role requires a proven track record in securing investment capital, ensuring compliance with financial and legal standards, and the ability to make strategic decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in impact investing, experience in negotiating complex legal agreements, and the ability to lead a team in a highly matrixed organization. Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in additional languages, particularly Spanish or French, is a plus. The Managing Director is expected to travel extensively and work with a diverse range of partners across different geographies and cultures.
