About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead its international membership organization dedicated to supporting educators who serve young adolescents. The successful candidate will be a strategic, innovative leader with a strong commitment to equity and access in professional learning. Key responsibilities for the CEO include providing strategic direction, overseeing daily operations, and diversifying revenue streams. The role demands a hands-on approach, with the CEO expected to engage directly in the organization's work and to lead a small, remote team. The ideal leader will be a compelling communicator, capable of building and sustaining relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, and will be responsible for guiding the organization in refining its strategic priorities and enhancing its membership value proposition.
The CEO will be the primary ambassador for the organization, representing its mission and values in national conversations about middle-level education. While prior experience in middle-level education is not required, the CEO must be willing to invest time in understanding the landscape to engage stakeholders effectively. The role also involves leading the organization in fostering a culture of trust, clear communication, and shared accountability, and ensuring that the values of equity, inclusion, and belonging are embedded across all aspects of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in organizational leadership, program management, and financial stewardship, and will be adept at balancing ambition with capacity to ensure that the organization's initiatives have a meaningful impact on middle-level educators.
