About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Principal Gifts to lead the strategic efforts in securing significant philanthropic contributions. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing strategies to cultivate and solicit transformational gifts, managing a portfolio of high-capacity donors, and building enduring relationships through in-person engagement. This role is pivotal in advancing the institution's comprehensive campaign and its national standing in student success, research, and innovation. The AVP will work closely with the advancement team to align philanthropic priorities with institutional goals, and will be expected to travel and participate in campaign events to enhance donor engagement.
Applicants for the AVP position must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years' professional experience, with a proven track record in donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship at the major and principal gift levels. The ideal candidate will possess strategic leadership, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a strong background in comprehensive campaigns, particularly within complex organizational settings. The role requires a dynamic and strategic advancement professional who can mentor colleagues, foster partnerships, and contribute to a culture of philanthropy.
