Job Title Generalist architect assigned to an IT portfolio (Logistics tech, Sales tech, Ecom etc,.) for creating solution designs for new capabilities/projects that the Portfolio implements and for leading/trouble shooting and supporting operational initiatives within the portfolio like technical upgrades of systems, patches, support for outages etc. The SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) Architect plays a strategic role in designing and delivering scalable, high-performance warehouse management solutions using SAP EWM. This individual serves as a key advisor to business and IT leadership, translating complex warehouse operations into robust SAP system designs. The role requires a deep understanding of supply chain logistics, warehouse automation, and SAP best practices to ensure seamless integration with enterprise systems such as SAP S/4HANA and third-party logistics platforms. The SAP EWM Architect leads end-to-end solution architecture, from requirement gathering and blueprinting to deployment and post-go-live support. They are responsible for ensuring that the EWM solution aligns with business goals, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. This role also involves mentoring junior consultants, managing vendor relationships, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across global warehouse operations. Major Responsibilities Strategic Leadership:
- Lead the design and architecture of SAP EWM solutions based on business requirements and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze warehouse management needs.
- Configure and implement SAP EWM modules, ensuring alignment with operational workflows.
- Integrate SAP EWM with SAP S/4HANA, ERP, and third-party logistics systems. Develop technical specifications for custom developments and enhancements. Oversee data migration, system testing, and go-live activities.
- Provide post-implementation support and continuous improvement recommendations.
- Stay updated on SAP EWM innovations and recommend relevant upgrades or features.
- 10+ years of experience in SAP Supply Chain modules, with at least 5+ years in SAP EWM. Proven experience in at least 2 full-cycle SAP EWM implementations, including blueprinting, configuration, testing, and go-live.
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA EWM and decentralized EWM deployments.
- Experience integrating SAP EWM with automated warehouse systems (e.g., conveyors, AS/RS) and third-party logistics providers.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex project timelines.
- Experience in global or multi-site warehouse rollouts is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in full-cycle SAP EWM implementations.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse processes (inbound, outbound, inventory, labor management).
- Expertise in SAP EWM configuration, RF framework, and integration with SAP ERP.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- SAP EWM certification is preferred.
- Experience with cloud-based SAP deployments.
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
- Proven ability to describe business use cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts, and analytical approaches/options. The ability to translate among the vocabulary used by executives, business, IT, and stakeholders.
